For more than four decades, the San Joaquin Clay & Glass Association has been dedicated to supporting artists, encouraging creativity, and building a thriving arts community in the Central Valley.
Our Clay & Glass Festival began as a gathering of local craftspeople and has grown into a beloved tradition where artists can share their work, connect with the community, and make a living doing what they love.
But the festival is only one part of what we do.
We believe artists need more than a place to sell their work. They need opportunities to learn, grow, connect, and build a future in the arts.
That's why we're expanding our focus—and we need our community's help.
HELP BUILD A STRONGER ARTS COMMUNITY
SJCGA is proud to be a vibrant, diverse, and welcoming community of artists. We believe the ceramic arts are stronger when people from different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives have a place at the table.
We actively promote inclusion, equity, accessibility, and diversity within the ceramic arts and work to bring artists and our community closer together through shared experiences, education, collaboration, and creative exchange.
SJCGA represents artists from all communities and strives to reflect a broad range of experiences, backgrounds, voices, and identities. This includes—but is not limited to—diversity in race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, socioeconomic status, and age.
Your support helps SJCGA create opportunities for artists to connect, participate, learn from one another, and feel a sense of belonging within the Central Valley arts community.
INVESTING IN THE NEXT GENERATION
SJCGA is launching a new Scholarship Program for emerging artists pursuing their craft through apprenticeships and hands-on learning opportunities.
We are also developing continuing education grants for SJCGA members, helping working artists attend workshops, learn new techniques, explore new materials, and continue developing their careers.
These programs are about opening doors.
A scholarship can give an emerging artist the chance to work alongside an experienced maker. A workshop grant can introduce an established artist to an entirely new technique. An apprenticeship can turn a passion into a career.
